Description
The course will include discussions in class and hands-on experience. Topics may include, but are not limited to the following aspects of pedagogy: Developing a syllabus for Latin, Greek and courses in translation; choosing texts and textbooks for Latin and Greek; strategies for teaching particular authors or subjects, planning and implementing a successful lecture; encouraging classroom discussion; making appropriate assignments; assessing the students' progress; and using technology to promote learning. Faculty from Throughout CUNY will be invited to participate as mentors for the students.
