Course Title

Research Methods in International Migration

Description

The goal of this course is to give students the tools they need to transition from consumers to producers of knowledge. First, it will provide an overview of major methodological approaches in the study of international migration. It covers quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methodological approaches and project designs and shows students how to critically evaluate research in international migration. Second, this course will prepare students to design and develop their own original research projects for their capstones. Readings and assignments, such as a research proposal, will be focused on having students engage with methodological decision-making in their own work.
