Description
In this course, a student is to initiate an applied research project on any field in Data Science with the guidance of an academia or industrial mentor. The project should aim to apply Data Science technologies on a real life data set to solve a research problem or design a practical system. The main purpose of this 3-credit course is to identify such a problem, conduct research on related cutting edge research and technology, make initial efforts to collect or identify data sets for study,and proposal or outline potential solutions for the research.
