Speech and Audio Understanding is a multidisciplinary field at the intersection of signal processing, machine learning, and psychoacoustics. This course introduces the necessary material from these fields to provide a foundation. The methodology and algorithms for the conversion of audio spoken voice to text and conversion of text to synthesized voice constitutes the core of the course. Information retrieval from music is also studied.
