Course Title

Independent Studies

Description

The IMS independent study course is designed to allow students to explore substantively-oriented, or methodologically-relevant, topics related to their larger research interests but not in the regular offerings of the GC or IMS program. Students will be required to secure both a faculty member to organize the independent study as well as permission from the Director of the IMS program prior to enrollment. Students should view the independent study course as a mechanism for exploring topics related to their larger research interests, but should think of it as an option only when no other reasonable avenues to that end are available through regular GC offerings. Final approval must be given by the program director.
