Course Title
The Early Modern Atlantic World
Department(s)
Description
This course utilizes, among other approaches, concepts movement, power, and difference to examine the formation of an Early Modern Atlantic World, 1400-1800. Instead of privileging the modern nation-state as the modality for organizing histories before 1800, this course attends to the ideas, beliefs, concepts and principles that shaped pasts along the Atlantic coastlines resulting in a loosely configured AtlanticWorld.
