Climate Change and Resilience
Department(s)
Description
This course is an exploration of the emergence and current and future impacts of climate change. With an emphasis on NYC, and using content from published international and domestic reports, students are exposed to the current climate crisis and its projected future impacts, in bad- to -worst case scenarios. In the face of changing climate, resilience and survival depends on an ability to resist, adapt or relocate and each of these approaches motivate actions from communities facing climate risk. The course draws on the experiences of these communities in a series of case-studies, meetings with community groups and field work in NYC.
